The Lion in Winter

The Lion in Winter  is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc. www.concordtheatricals.com.

Love, hate, politics, threats, intrigue, inheritance, conspiracies, egos and ambition. Christmas 1183. King Henry II (Jamie Couch) brings his family together, even releasing his wife, Eleanor of Aquitaine (Roz Couch) from prison for the occasion. An aging Henry is attempting to determine which of the sons—Richard (Todd Phillips), Geoffrey (Kevin Helmer), or John (Chris Morones)—will be the next King of England.

Add in Henry’s mistress, Alais (Candyce Wagnon), and her brother, King Phillip II of France (Jason Couch), and navigating through the plots and ambitions is not easy. With unforgettable, larger-than-life legendary characters and rich, witty dialogue, The Lion in Winter is an experience that shouldn’t be missed.

The play is directed by Bill Small and auditions were held at Lamp-Lite Theatre on Aug.17 & 18.

NOTE: This play is recommended for audiences 16 and older due to mature themes and language.

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever  is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc. www.concordtheatricals.com.

In this hilarious Christmas classic, a couple struggling to put on a church Christmas pageant is faced with casting the Herdman kids, played by Anayah Denby, Cater Cartwright, Grayson Foss, Cadence Glazener, Jake Hancock, and Sofi Serna. Probably the most inventively awful kids in history, you won't believe  the mayhem — and the fun — when the Herdmans collide head-on with the  Bradleys, played by Christóban Morones, Chelsi Condon, Rees Runnels and Benjamin Serna-Villanueva.

This delightful show is adapted from the bestselling Young Adult book and has become a holiday staple for groups across the United States. The crowd-pleasing comedy features plenty of great roles for children and adults, a few favorite Christmas Carols, and lots of laughs.

The play will be directed by Katherine Parrish Whitbeck, and assisted by Davy Thomas, Elaine Lambright, and Betsy Tucker. Auditions were held on October 5 & 6.
