2023-24 Lamp-Lite Season — A Historic Season

Yes, We Deliver, an original screenplay written by Lamp-Lite's own Ken Untiedt, will lead off the 2023-24 "Historic Season" of Lamp-Lite Theatre.

Jack Stephens (Riley Nichols) is a young man determined not to follow in his father's footsteps as a high-powered attorney. Instead, Jack takes a job in a pizza restaurant, where he has some rather quirky co-workers. 

Each scene contains a new surprise as he meets some of the restaurant's most interesting customers while he visits their homes—and eventually discovers his true calling.

Yes, We Deliver will be directed by Ken Untiedt and LaChanda Maxie will be the assistant director.

The Sanders Family leads the congregation of a church in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina through its Saturday Night Gospel Sing. 

Having been on hiatus for five years, the family sings and plays two dozen rousing bluegrass songs during this hilarious and heartwarming story of one evening of spiritual revival in 1938.

Behind the scene, making it all come together, are Katherine Whitbeck, Director; and Davy Thomas, Music Director.

Auditions will be held on Saturday, Sept. 9 at 2-4pm, and on Sept. 16 at 2-4pm, at Lamp-Lite Theatre.

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever  is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc. www.concordtheatricals.com.

The antics of the Herdmans, six of "the worst kids in the history of the world," who decide to attend Sunday School for free snacks and end up volunteering to star in the church's annual Christmas pageant, disrupting the entire process. 

As they learn about the Christmas story for the first time, their questions and reactions end up teaching everyone the true meaning of Christmas.

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever will be directed by Pat Harris & Tim Hogle.

Auditions will be held on Thursday, Oct. 26 at 5:30p-6:30pm and Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023, at 10am-1pm  at Lamp-Lite Theatre.

Set in St. Louis in 1937, The Glass Menagerie  was written by Tennessee Williams.

In a dream -like state, Tom Wingfield remembers his conflicted desires regarding the course of his life, his desperate need to escape his demanding mother, and a transformative evening involving his sensitive sister and a friend from his workplace.

Exploring regret, lost youth, and emotional sensitivity using highly-charged poetic language, this masterwork of literature is filled with tenderness and trauma, love and regret, and fragility and strength—all combining to create a beautifully haunting play which mirrors the human experience.

The Glass Menagerie will be directed by Melissa McMillian-Cunningham.

Auditions for The Glass Menagerie will be held at 1-4pm on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023, at Lamp-Lite Theatre.

The Play That Goes Wrong, written by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer & Henry Shields, is presented by arrangement with Dramatists Play Service under license from Mischief Worldwide Ltd.

After benefiting from a large and sudden inheritance, the inept and accident-prone Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society embarks on producing an ambitious 1920s murder mystery. 

Hilarious disaster ensues and the cast members start to crack under the pressure. Can they get the production back on track before the final curtain falls?

The Play That Goes Wrong will be directed by Pat Harris.

Hiding Addison, an original screenplay written by Lamp-Light's own Pat Harris, will cap off the 2023-24 "Historic Season" of Lamp-Lite Theatre.

When a new resident moves in, a group of senior citizens in a retirement home unintentionally becomes involved with taking care of the great-grandchild temporarily left in her care until the father can return for the infant. 

Coping with the limitations of old age, adjusting their lifestyle to accommodate a baby for two weeks, and hiding their activities from staff and other residents leads to one purpose. They must hide Baby Addison.

Hiding Addison will be directed by Pat Harris.

Auditions will be held at on Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024 at 5pm and Saturday, Jan. 27 at 10am at Lamp-Lite Theatre.
